Food Donations

Since we give out 25,000 food boxes each  year, as you can imagine, we can use all the food we can get.  We work collaboratively with the Marion-Polk Food Share.  We also rely heavily on food drives and donations to help our clients.

If you would like to donate, here are some of the items most needed:

  • Shelf-Stable Dairy
  • Soup
  • Vegetables
  • Tuna
  • Pasta
  • Peanut Butter
  • Flour
  • Canned Tomatoes
  • Canned Fruit
  • Cereal
  • Toilet paper
  • Diapers

Please bring food donation items to our location at 3745 Portland Rd. NE, Salem, OR 97303 or if you belong to St. Joseph, St. Vincent de Paul or St. Edward Catholic Churches, feel free to bring them to their monthly food drives.

Cash donations are always greatly appreciated so that we may also purchase food items.

Household Goods

Many of our clients are homeless or if they do have a home, they frequently lack many things we take for granted.

Some of the things we often need include:

  • Sleeping bags
  • Tarps
  • New underwear and socks
  • Warm coats
  • Blankets

If you have these items to donate, please bring them to our food bank location or call us at 503-364-3210.

Cash Donations

We are one of  charities in the Mid-Willamette Valley that helps with rent, power, water and medical bills and other critical financial needs.  We frequently help single mothers keep the power or water on; seniors pay for critical medications; or provide the financial bridge for families who would otherwise lose their homes while they are in between jobs.

We provide the last $50 of an individual’s or family’s needs to cover a past due bill.  For example, if a family owes $150 on their power bill, they must come up with $100 before we will pay the last $50.  We will then contact the utility or landlord and provide them with our financial commitment.

We provide financial assistance once in a twelve month period.  Our hope is that this financial assistance will provide a safety net to clients who are experiencing  difficult financial circumstances and need help to get them through the temporary situation.

For these reasons, monetary donations are great appreciated.
